Tidal Glass House

The residence

Tidal Glass House sits on a private rocky shoulder where the Norwegian Sea meets a narrow strand. The architecture is divided into three glazed volumes, allowing the horizon to remain visible between rooms and giving every arrival a clear relationship to weather and water.

Inside, smoked oak, honed local stone and woven wool temper the changing northern light. A sea-facing great room anchors the plan, while the library, winter garden and kitchen occupy quieter edges around a sheltered inner court.

The bedroom wing gives each suite a framed view without exposing it to neighboring rooms. The principal suite has its own sauna, cold-plunge terrace and a protected reading bay positioned for winter storms.

Built for year-round use, the house pairs marine-grade detailing with ground-source energy, heat recovery and concealed service access. A separate studio can operate as staff accommodation or a private working retreat.
