The residence
Canopy Loop House circles a stand of mature Atlantic Forest trees, touching the ground at a limited number of points. The elevated plan preserves natural drainage and creates a continuous shaded walk between living spaces, gardens and the forest edge.
Laminated timber ribs define the architecture, while deep eaves and perforated shutters temper heat and rain. The central living room opens completely to a planted court; a quieter library projects toward a river bend below the property.
Four suites occupy separate arcs of the loop, giving guests privacy and distinct views into the canopy. The principal suite includes an outdoor bathing garden screened by broad-leaf planting and a private meditation platform.
The residence operates with photovoltaic energy, rainwater storage and cross-ventilation for most of the year. A compact service pavilion, vegetable garden and natural swimming pond support long stays with a light footprint.
